Intel®
Centrino - Unwired Technology
Intel®, the industry leader in PC processor technology, brings
you Centrino™, an innovative new standard for true mobile notebook
performance and capability. Being mobile is about freedom. Freedom
to move, connect and enjoy. Intel Centrino™ delivers unprecedented
CPU performance, battery standby times, low heat generation, ultralight
and thin chassis and built-in wireless networking.
The Ultraport™ 2100 embraces Centrino™ technology, merging
the raw power of advanced IT equipment with lifestyle and practical,
ergonomic elements that it is pleasurable to use. Imagine whisper
quiet operational noise in the still of the night, or a keyboard you
can type on for hours without fear of scorching your fingertips or
having confidence your battery will sustain your Ultraport 2100 through
the big presentation.
As the use of video, audio and detailed graphics becomes
more prevalent, and the number and types of foreground and background
applications increase, mobile processing power has become more important
than ever. The Intel Pentium®-M processor, running at clock speeds
of up to 2.13Ghz is cleaverly matched with a massive cache of 2Mb
- Twice that of the desktop based Intel® Pentium® 4 Prescott
range of CPUs - producing unparalleled levels of mobile specific CPU
performance. In fact, performance tests have shown that despite the
lower gigahertz rating, the Pentium-M surpases desktop based CPUs
in the mobile computing arena due to an improved instruction set,
large cache, and reduced heat generation. Move between a multimedia
slideshow and a home video with ease thanks to technology that offers
faster execution of instructions at lower power. Intel Centrino mobile
technology also features advanced instruction prediction to eliminate
CPU process replication, and second-generation Streaming SIMD Extensions
with instructions integrated into the software to enhance performance.

In
order to achieve lightness, conserve battery life and minimize heat
generation the Ultraport 2100 uses the low
power consumption Intel Extreme Graphics 2 integrated graphics processor
to meet today's demand for a more realistic digital experience and
complex graphics environments. Intel® Extreme
Graphics 2 is the next generation of Intel’s revolutionary
integrated graphics core that delivers intense, realistic 3D graphics
with sharp images, fast rendering, smooth motion, and incredible
detail for more enjoyable 3D and high resolution video playback
experience.
Despite the fact that part of the Ultraport 2100's system main memory
is being shared towards the resource requirements of the Intel®
Extreme
Graphics 2 processor, it's unique architecture, through innovative
engineering, balances memory usage between graphics and other system
functions. The result is more realistic visual quality for graphics—without
sacrificing the system performance needed for such tasks as video
editing and music recording. Additionally, innovative technologies
add new levels of 2D and 3D graphic quality:
• Dynamic Video Memory Technology 2.0
• Enhanced Intelligent Memory Management
• Enhanced Rapid Pixel and Texel Rendering
• Zone Rendering 2
Intel Extreme Graphics 2 supports the latest 2D and 3D APIs, including
the popular engineering standard OpenGL1.3, delivering
real-life environment and character effects. A 256-bit internal
path enables up to four textures per pixel on a single pass for
super light maps, atmospheric effects, and more realistic surface
details.
Flexible display capabilities enhance the personal computing experience,
offering significant benefits for applications requiring 32-bpp
and higher display resolutions.

Ultramodern styling, design and ergonomics.
The Ultraport 2100's chassis is painted with a fine metallic compound
producing a premium finish that outlines it's design finesse. The
simplistic and modern form in black with silver lining makes the Ultraport
is a true mobile user accessory, a definition of style and trend.

12"
TFT LCD. Not too big, not too small.
The quality and size of display is always critical to a user's attraction
to a particular notebook model. In consideration of the Ultraport's
incredibly light weight and tiny form factor, it is amazing our engineers
could fit a relatively large 12" LCD into the design. With an
industry standard XGA resolution producing 1024x768 pixels, you get
as much information availabe on-screen as any normal office monitor
whilst the clearity of the Ultraport 2100's pixel definition delivers
viewing quality with brilliant colour depth and contrast.

Wireless
Freedom
Wireless freedom now made easy and completely invisible through
the built-in integration of the industry's most popoular long range
wireless protocol. 802.11b running at 11Mbps does away with your
office or home's blue coloured cat 5 or UTP cable with up to a 300m
range. With such additional technologies as 128-bit WEP encryption
and VPN pass-through, the Ultraport ™ 2100 can be trusted
to be as secure as it is convenient.
|
Optional
7hr battery.
Mobile freedom doesn't get any better than a battery optional that
can extend your standby time for up to 7hrs. For those luckily enough
to enough a 38hr week, that's a full day of usage without charging!
Go out on the road and attend your conferences and presentations
with confidence battery life will not be a problem.

Built-in Optical Drive.
Despite the Ultraport 2100's super compact design,
it's tiny chassis manages to included a slim-type 8x DVD/16x12x24xCDR-W
optical drive for ultimate convenience and usability. Unanimous feedback
from previous models suggest that external drives were very impractical,
added weight, cumbersome to attach and worse still, if forgotten,
a complete disaster for a trip. The handiness to be able to produce
data CDs for customers, copy a colleague's disk or to simple watch
a DVD or listen to CD audio is the kind of user convenience a user
of such mobile products would much rather prefer. Of course, |
