Intel®
Centrino - Unwired Technology
Intel®, the industry leader in PC processor technology, brings
you Centrino™, an innovative new standard for true mobile notebook
performance and capability. Being mobile is about freedom. Freedom
to move, connect and enjoy. Intel Centrino™ delivers unprecedented
CPU performance, battery standby times, low heat generation, ultralight
and thin chassis and built-in wireless networking.
The Ultraport™ 1900 embraces Centrino™ technology, merging
the raw power of advanced IT equipment with lifestyle and practical,
ergonomic elements that it is pleasurable to use. Imagine whisper
quiet operational noise in the still of the night, or a keyboard you
can type on for hours without fear of scorching your fingertips or
having confidence your battery will sustain your Ultraport 1900 through
the big presentation.
As the use of video, audio and detailed graphics becomes
more prevalent, and the number and types of foreground and background
applications increase, mobile processing power has become more important
than ever. The Intel Pentium®-M processor, running at clock speeds
of up to 2.13Ghz is cleaverly matched with a massive cache of 2Mb
- Twice that of the desktop based Intel® Pentium® 4 Prescott
range of CPUs - producing unparalleled levels of mobile specific CPU
performance. In fact, performance tests have shown that despite the
lower gigahertz rating, the Pentium-M surpases desktop based CPUs
in the mobile computing arena due to an improved instruction set,
large cache, and reduced heat generation. Move between a multimedia
slideshow and a home video with ease thanks to technology that offers
faster execution of instructions at lower power. Intel Centrino mobile
technology also features advanced instruction prediction to eliminate
CPU process replication, and second-generation Streaming SIMD Extensions
with instructions integrated into the software to enhance performance.

In
order to achieve lightness, conserve battery life and minimize heat
generation the Ultraport 1900 uses the low
power consumption Intel Extreme Graphics 2 integrated graphics processor
to meet today's demand for a more realistic digital experience and
complex graphics environments. Intel® Extreme
Graphics 2 is the next generation of Intel’s revolutionary
integrated graphics core that delivers intense, realistic 3D graphics
with sharp images, fast rendering, smooth motion, and incredible
detail for more enjoyable 3D and high resolution video playback
experience.
Despite the fact that part of the Ultraport 1900's system main memory
is being shared towards the resource requirements of the Intel®
Extreme
Graphics 2 processor, it's unique architecture, through innovative
engineering, balances memory usage between graphics and other system
functions. The result is more realistic visual quality for graphics—without
sacrificing the system performance needed for such tasks as video
editing and music recording. Additionally, innovative technologies
add new levels of 2D and 3D graphic quality:
• Dynamic Video Memory Technology 2.0
• Enhanced Intelligent Memory Management
• Enhanced Rapid Pixel and Texel Rendering
• Zone Rendering 2
Intel Extreme Graphics 2 supports the latest 2D and 3D APIs, including
the popular engineering standard OpenGL1.3, delivering
real-life environment and character effects. A 256-bit internal
path enables up to four textures per pixel on a single pass for
super light maps, atmospheric effects, and more realistic surface
details.
Flexible display capabilities enhance the personal computing experience,
offering significant benefits for applications requiring 32-bpp
and higher display resolutions.

High Performance Hard Drives.
A notebook's hard disk subsystem is often the most overlooked aspect
of system performance. For many years, the notebook computer was limited
to hard disks produced with slow rpm speeds to sustain reliability.
Big bottlenecks in performance would be caused rendering superior
CPU and memory subsystems to idle whilst they waited for the hard
disk subsystem to catch up. Long load times and stalling applications
were typically the experience. Recently, new technological innovations
have made it possible to produce notebook hard disks (2.5") that
can operate up to 7200rpm - in line with standard desktop hard drives.
The Millennia™ 6200 takes full advtange of these new drives
with the likes of the Hitachi E7K60, featuring 8mb on-board cache,
100MB/sec Ultra DMA mode-5 transfer with 10ms seek times. Make sure
you demand a 7200rpm drive as a custom build option in your Ultraport™
1900 notebook. |

12.1"
WXGA Wide-Screen LCD.
The Ultraport 1900's 12.1" 16:10 aspect ratio widescreen LCD
is perfected suited to the general formfactor of the notebook, fitting
with the Ultraport 1900's small size design criteria. The widescreen
lcd form is a natural viewing layout and fullscreen capabilities for
video and digital still imaging based on the 16:10 aspect ratio. The
Ultraport 1900's 12.1" WXGA Ultrabright LCD screen supports a
maximum resolution of 1280x800 which represents over 30% more information,
on-screen, than a standard 12" XGA LCD. More than just a superior
display for DVD playback, you can view spreadsheets and tool intensive
graphics applications with must less need to scroll. Furthermore,
studies have shown that the ergonomic benefits of the 16:10 aspect
ratio significantly reduces eye and neck strain.

4 Speaker Output.
As one would naturally expect, more speakers normally mean better
sound distribution. Four carefully positioned speakers on the lcd
bottom edge and front edge of the Ultraport 1900 provide quality
digital audio output with enough power for board-room presentations,
video conferencing or a little in-car entertainment.

802.11g
(104Mbps) Wifi
Wireless freedom now made easy and completely invisible through
the built-in integration of the industry's most popoular long and
short range wireless protocols. 802.11g running at the new enhanced
speed of 104Mbps does away with your office or home's blue coloured
cat 5 or UTP cable with up to a 300m range. With such additional
technologies as 128-bit WEP encryption and VPN pass-through, the
Ultraport™ 1900 can be trusted to be as secure as it is convenient.
Optional
Bluetooth
The Ultraport™ 1900
provides a convenient insert bay for an optional Bluetooth™
module. With bluetooth you can wirelessly interconnect peripherals
and devices to your Ultraport™ 1900 up to a typical range
of 10m to 100m. Examples include speaker/microphone headsets, printers,
mice and keyboards and of course mobile phones and because many
of these devices can be connected simultaneously, you can imagine
the potential functionality you could achieve with your Ultraport™
1900. Control your Ultraport™ 1900 from the back of the presentation
room with either your mouse or voice or a combination of both and
then produce some "on-the-fly" output to your audience
to several printers at once.

Built-in Optical Drive.
Despite the Ultraport 1900's compact design,
ITC's engineers were determined that practicality would not be compromised.
Choose optical drive units from respectable manufacturers like panasonic,
teac and toshiba to equip your Ultraport 1900 to burn anything from
CD data, DivX or DVD movies to watching your favourite DVD. Take a
pick from a 24x16x16x CD-RW/8xDVD-ROM combo for CD Authoring and DVD
playback, a 2xDVD-R/W which adds DVD Movie burning capabilities and
the ultimate 4xDVD+/-R/W that'll turn the little Ultraport 1900 into
a "on-the-move" CD duplicating factory. |
